Subscription, Cancellation & Refund Policy

1. Free personalized discovery

An eligible verified-email account may claim one free personalized discovery without a payment method. The optional strategy interview and discovery share Chartorum's promotional limits. The complete result is generated and stored once; up to four candidates are visible during the trial, or all candidates if fewer than four exist.

The remaining stored candidates unlock after Chartorum receives confirmed paid-subscription activation from Paddle. Unlocking does not run discovery again. The offer is limited to one claim per account, is subject to a global promotional budget and kill switch, has no cash value, and may end or be unavailable without notice. It is not a Paddle-managed free trial and does not automatically convert into a paid subscription.

2. Paid subscription

The Chartorum Subscription is $14.99 USD per month, plus tax where applicable. It renews automatically each month until canceled. Paddle is the merchant of record and securely handles checkout, payment methods, tax, receipts, and billing management. Chartorum does not receive your full card details.

If the registered user is a minor, checkout must be authorized by an adult purchaser or another person with legally sufficient authority to make the purchase for that user. Chartorum requires an unchecked purchaser-authority acknowledgement before requesting a Paddle checkout and stores that acknowledgement with the authenticated owner and checkout. A payment card or successful payment is not, by itself, proof of age or purchasing authority.

Before you authorize checkout, Paddle shows the total due, billing cadence, applicable tax, and payment details. A subscription begins only after Paddle confirms payment and Chartorum receives a valid signed activation event.

3. Included usage

Each active subscription includes up to 25 personalized discoveries per UTC calendar month and a shared $6.00 USD monthly AI-provider cost ceiling. The cost ceiling covers discovery, strategy interpretation/normalization, and interview calls tied to the subscription. It is an internal safety limit, not an account credit or refundable balance.

Unused allowance does not roll over. A request may be rejected before it starts when the worst-case reserved cost would exceed the remaining ceiling. Calls already made can count toward the cost ceiling even if a job fails or requires reconciliation, because providers may charge for those calls. Chartorum will not intentionally submit duplicate billable requests to overcome an ambiguous outcome.

4. Renewal and payment problems

Paddle charges the saved payment method at each renewal. If payment fails, Paddle may retry or request updated payment details under its buyer terms. Chartorum may temporarily show a past-due subscription while Paddle resolves payment. Access ends when the confirmed subscription period or entitlement ends, or earlier when a confirmed full refund, chargeback, fraud, or legal event requires blocking access.

5. How to cancel

You may cancel through Account & billing → Manage billing with Paddle or through Paddle's customer portal. Cancellation stops future renewals. Unless Paddle states otherwise for your transaction or applicable law requires different treatment, access remains available through the end of the already-paid billing period.

Cancel before the next renewal date to avoid the next charge. Signing out, archiving a discovery, deleting local browser data, or asking Clerk to close an authentication account does not cancel a Paddle subscription.

6. Refunds

Cancellation does not automatically refund the current paid period. Refund requests are submitted to Paddle, which processes refunds as merchant of record under Paddle's Refund Policy, applicable law, and any final Chartorum refund commitment stated here.

A confirmed full refund or approved chargeback may block paid access. A reversed chargeback may restore access after Chartorum receives and validates the corresponding Paddle event.

7. Price or plan changes

Chartorum may change prices or included limits for a future billing period. We will provide any notice and obtain any consent required by applicable law or Paddle's billing rules before the change takes effect. The current launch plan has no annual subscription.

8. Billing help

Use Paddle's customer portal for payment-method updates, invoices, cancellation, and supported refund requests. For Chartorum entitlement or trial-unlock problems, contact the website operator, Chartorum LLC, at support@chartorum.com. Include only the minimum transaction reference needed; never email full card details.
